Chester is a 4 year old lightly marked harlequin male dane. He is being rescued from a local shelter. Update: Chester can hear and can see, but we believe that both are slightly impaired. He responds to his name. He is good with the foster's cat but they believe that if a small dog or cat ran from him, he would chase. He loves attention and is fairly calm. He would do good in a home where he is the only dog though he gets along with other large dogs. He sometimes gets startled due to sight and hearing impairment and will bark and growl. We tell him who it is and calm him down. This has happened a couple of times. He is excellent in crate.The first time was hard, but after that he goes in automatically by touching his collar. He feels very safe in his crate and with his blankies and has gone in there on his own initiative. Update from foster:"he doesn't bother the small dogs, and really doesn't seem to get startled when approached. He follows hand commands well and does respond well when calling his name. He does have limited vision seems more to be distant than up close. Not sure the extent of his hearing deficit, since he responds well to my voice.

He is interested in the kittens that we have (2), but that seems to only be the initial intro. when they were running around. He leaves the cat alone that walks amongst all of the dogs. As you can tell by the photos, he's very affectionate, what a sweetie, quite a lap dog, eh? "
