February is Adopt-A-Senior-Dane Month and we’re starting early!

Okay, so we made that up, we don’t really know if February is Adopt-A-Senior-Dane month or not, but we at GDRNT would like to make it so! We currently have EIGHT Senior Danes seeking families of their own and there are some fabulous reasons to adopt a senior dane. Just ask them:

hank “We don’t chew all your stuff up!”

katie “We have better house manners than those darn youngsters!”
I’VE BEEN ADOPTED!

kenya “We already know to appreciate that spot on the couch”

misty“These are supposed to be the BEST years of our lives”

marmie“We seniors are more distinguished looking! Surely you agree!”
I’VE BEEN ADOPTED!

oniell “We only zoom once a day”
I’VE BEEN ADOPTED!

boyd “We appreciate your love and attention more than rumbling with other doggies”

scooby “There are never guarantees about length of life with any dog, young or old”I’VE BEEN ADOPTED!

If the dogs can’t persuade you to consider adopting senior dane, maybe some of their owners and foster parents can: “The love of a Senior Dane is unique. Their quiet demeanor and kind souls inexplicably gets to you like no other dog will. You know their eyes might have seen some horrible things, their bodies possibly never had something soft to lie upon, and their heart never loved by someone before, yet they inexplicably seem to forget all that once they are in their forever home. Perhaps they realize they don’t have the time left a young puppy might, so they try to squeeze a lifetime of love into a smaller number of years. They are grateful to be loved and to have someone to love back. There is nothing like having a grey muzzled Dane inch onto the couch next to you, look up at you, then lie their head in your lap with a sigh of pure contentment. Life is good.”

So, at the request of our Oldies-But-Goodies, February (yeah, yeah we know it’s still January, but our senior Danes don’t exactly have calenders handy to check) is Adopt-A-Senior-Dane month! They may not fill that spot on the couch for the next 10 years, but they will fill a spot in your heart for the rest of your life.
