Procedure to adopt a dane from Great Dane Rescue
- Contact a representative by
calling (214) 888-6590 or
name, address, telephone number, fax number
where we can send you an application and information about
yourself such as current dogs/cats (number, age, neuter/spay,
heartworm preventative, etc), children (number, ages), housing
situation, past pets, vet, etc. You can pick up an
application at any mobile adoption site or from this web site. - Complete a telephone interview.
- Complete an adoption application.
- Home visit by a Great Dane Rescue representative.
Procedure if approved to adopt a Great Dane from Great Dane Rescue
- Learn about and visit danes*
currently available who are suitable for your particular
household situation. - Choose a dane (choice guided by Great Dane Rescue
representative). - Complete Terms of Adoption Legal and Binding Contract.
- Take your new family member home to love and protect.
* Note: If there is not a dane available at this time to fit your
household, you will be put on a waiting list and contacted when a
suitable dane becomes available.
All Great Dane Rescue adoptions include the following
veterinary services prior to adoption
- Health exam
- Vaccinations
- Deworming
- Heartworm Test – both filter and occult (and treatment if
necessary) - Rabies vaccination
- Spay or neuter of EVERY Great Dane
- Any medical services and treatment as deemed necessary by a
veterinarian.
We reserve the right to refuse adoption of any animal for any
reason.
