When 3 Months becomes 22 Months and Counting!

Sometimes a dog just needs some extra TLC .... usually that means extra time in foster care, expensive vetting and someone willing to take a chance. We received a call from a local shelter who knew Ike needed Great Dane Rescue of North Texas. When I saw him he broke my heart... he was estimated at 12 and his spirit was broken at the shelter.... but no way we would leave him there...

#NTXGiving Day & GDRNT Emergency Medical Fund

Big dogs can mean big veterinary bills... especially in an emergency situation with a foster pup! Being an all volunteer non profit, money can sometimes be tight and we never want to make medical decisions for our fosters based on finances. Since January of 2021 we have had over $13,000 in Emergency Veterinary expenses on top of our normal veterinary day to day... yup in the first 9 months of 2021 we have already spent over THIRTEEN THOUSAND BUCKS!

Because of your generosity via #NTXGiving, Great Dane Rescue of North Texas has been able to make those decisions knowing we have the money in our Emergency Veterinary Fund to pay the bill. This fund also allows us to say YES when area shelters contact us about Danes that have hard medical situations.

COVID has also brought us more good owners who need short term assistance to keep their dane in a loving home. Chances Fund allows us to provide food, veterinary services or even assistance with an emergency veterinary expense. This program helps keep dogs out of the shelter system and in responsible loving homes.

Coco wants to make it simple and created a scannable QR code that will take you straight to our #NTXGiving site!
