As the year ends some of you may be faced with deciding where to give your charitable dollars. You want your donation to do some good and make a measurable difference with an organization that puts it to work on the front lines. To those still deciding please consider some simple facts about GDRNT, and if so compelled click on the DONATE button at the end of this story.

  • Great Dane Rescue of North Texas, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to providing medical attention and foster care while seeking permanent homes for abandoned Great Danes in the North Texas area. Check with your Tax Adviser but in most cases your donation is tax deductible.
  • So far this year we have worked with over 32 shelters to save over 90 danes from death row. Since 2001 over 1,465 danes have come through our program. Your donation allows us to take every viable shelter request. We have not had to turn away a shelter request from an area shelter.
  • GDRNT is 100% privately funded. We receive zero tax dollars or other government funding… we are supported by people just like you who donate what they can.
  • Every Dane that has comes into our program averages over $650 in actual veterinary costs to rescue, that is with the generous discounts given by some of the best veterinarians in the area. That is only medical costs. That does not include food, crates transportation or the money spent by fosters on “extras” such as toys, bedding or treats. Your donations go directly to paying our veterinarians to continue to provide first class veterinary care to all our danes.
  • We are 100% all volunteer run, nobody at rescue makes a dime for the many hours dedicated to rescue We are on call 24/7 and get no weekends or holidays off. We do this while maintaining full time jobs and juggling families. This allows GDRNT to get the most “Dane for the Buck” less than 10% of your donation could go to Business expenses such as insurance fees and general office expenses.
  • We are 100% Foster home based. We do not have a building or shelter we have HOMES. Foster families open their homes, arrange their schedules, and provide rehabilitation, training and love to help make each dog more adoptable. During this time, each Dane’s health and temperament is evaluated which helps us make appropriate permanent placements in approved adoptive homes. In addition to providing medical and emotional rehabilitation, all foster homes crate train, work on basic obedience and housebreaking. Your donation goes to work for the danes and our foster homes take their pay in watching these dogs blossom.

So please consider GDRNT as your charitable partner to help save the lives of the discarded.
