Those of you who have followed this site regularly will know that it is usually not good news when we are quiet on line. I admit I was surprised it has been almost a month but dang…… I am not even sure where to start.
Here it is.. we need qualified foster hones. We do not have a shelter and are all volunteer foster home based. So what does this mean.
When a request for help comes from a shelter we cannot commit unless we have an appropirate foster home open. In the last 10 days we have taken in 6 shelter danes and have averaged 7 surrender requests a DAY, every single day….. no joke.
Foster homes are critical to what we do and without you we could not exist. Our mission is to find qualified approved FURever homes for our fosters. Adoptable behavior & characteristics increases the chance of finding the perfect FURever home and a quick adoption making room to save another. Ultimately it is about the dog and exceptions may be granted at the discretion of the board.
Foster homes commit to providing the 2nd Best Home your foster will ever have. The Best Home should be their FURever home. Our job is to make them good family members with good manner. Spoiling your foster with things like furniture privileges, sleeping on your human bed or feeding table scraps does not enhance their adoptability. Sometimes TUFF LOVE will make your foster available for adoption faster.
