Lacey has Found her Cagney

Ok so the reference may be showing my age...
One of the most rewarding things is rescue is watching a mangy, frightened and sick dog bloom. When Lacey came to rescue she both broke and won hearts. She came in with Gypsy and was so afraid to leave her side. Both girls were so sick and had been suffering a very long time with demodex mange. Demodex mange is very treatable when caught early.. left untreated it becomes infected causing fur lose and painful delicate skin. I am honestly not sure what shut her down more.. her fear or her pain.

It took some time, medications and lots of love from her foster homes but Lacey found her love for life. When Lacey had her adoption meeting we were not sure she wouldn't fall back on her fears and stick to her foster mom.. but wow did she turn on the charm. Lacey knew this was her furever family and was not shy to let it show. It was so far from the frightened shut down pup that came to us.. and she continues to shine in her awesome, loving furever home.
