This Weekends FURever homes....

It has been a busy week here at GDRNT. 2013 has already been a busy one and we continue to work hard to save more danes. My favorite part of rescue is adoption day! This weekend our adoption team and foster families got three of our danes their perfect FURever homes.

Dexter is a silly young boy and his foster family loved him. Sometimes a foster dane comes into your home and you can't help falling in love extra hard. So it was with this family but their strong commitment to fostering and saving more danes meant they could not be his FURever home. They know that by letting Dexter go to a FURever home they will be able to save another dane by opening a foster spot. So this weekend Dexter met an awesome FURever family who had already has a GDRNT dane and another dog. Dexter will have a great time playing with the other dogs! Dexters FURever family so much loves their first GDRNT Dane that they wanted another, proving again that danes are like chips... hard to have just one! Congrats to Dexter and his FURever family.

Prince Bubba is another young gun who came to rescue very sick. His foster home made several vet visits and one trip to the ER to get him healthy. Once Prince was feeling better he let us know what a great dude he is! Think teenage dude... and that is Prince! Full of life and ready for adventure, but then just wants to hang and watch ESPN. Prince's FURever dad is the perfect home for him! These two guys hit it off immediately and are going to have a great life together.

The last one is exciting! I can't explain it but every once in awhile a great dane stays with us way too long... Murphy has been on so many match lists but what never adopted .. for no real reason other than the other dane was a better fit for that family. What we did not know is that he was waiting.... waiting for this couple this weekend! Murphy doesn't know why it took them so long to find him but now Murphy is FURever home with a mom and dad who simply adore his big goofy self.

Each adoption takes a small army to pull off... from the person who transported from the shelter, the foster home, adoption coordinator and everyone who has donated money and time to GDRNT. So to all of you a huge THANK YOU!
