Spring Break FURever homes!

We hope you all had a great Spring Break! It would be hard to beat Zack's spring break since he found his perfect FURever home! This sweet boy came to us full of personality and short or groceries and manners! Seems like we get alot of what I like to call "Young and dumb":) Too many people get these cute dane puppies and do not give any consideration to what happens when they hit over 100 pounds. If the behavior is not cute at 150 pounds it isn't cute at 15 pounds! New puppy owners get caught up in "cute" and forget that manners start at day ONE!

Our foster homes know the routine and work hard and quick to get their foster ready for FURever! Even while undergoing medical treatment modified training will begin. In Zach's case he needed groceries to put on some healthy weight. We work hard to monitor weight to be sure fosters gain (or loose) at a healthy rate.

Training includes the basics like potty and crate training but also leash, car and house manners. Part of being a good family member is learning that the counter is NOT a buffet line and the couch pillows are NOT chew toys. However the biggest offences usually have to do with being size stupid. Young Danes have zero idea of how big they are and will jump on you, pull you down, lean you into the counter and (my personal peeve) mouthing for attention! This is all normal puppy behavior but when left uncorrected until they are over 100 pounds it can be hazardous.

So it was with Zach and his foster mom worked very hard to teach him what was expected! His FURever family loved him immediately and understands the necessity of continuing the hard work and structured love of his foster home! YIPEEEE

So please two PAWS up for Zach, his rock star foster mom and AWESOME FURever family!
