and a partridge in a Pear Tree...

Honestly that seems to be the only thing missing from GDRNT news! First off a HUGE THANK YOU to everyone who has come to the Wine Cellar, City of Murphy and Woof Gang this month to support GDRNT and these great supporters. It was a ton of fun having everyone come out and show their generosity and Holiday spirit. But Santa has been busy too and two of our danes have found FURever homes this weekend!

First is our sweet sweet Margo. Margo came to us very very sick with a respiratory infection that required a week long stay at the veterinarian... honestly we were afraid this wicked sick girl would not make it... well not only did she make it but she is so beautiful inside and out. Her foster family worked so hard and was amazed at how sweet and loving this girl is! Now this weekend she has found an amazing FURever home with a family who waited for her to get better and bring her home! Margo showed up at her new home as if she knew it was perfect and would never leave! YIPEEEEEE

The next one is special to my heart because she was my foster. If you saw Sophia's video on her profile or Facebook you saw her wounds caused by an untreated secondary infection from demodex mange. She had a large open wound the size of a salad plate on her neck and she was only 7 months old! She responded quickly to treatment and the love of my kids as her demodex treatment caused most of her fur to fall out leaving her patchy. Through all of this she slowly gained weight and won over all the hearts in my home... even Mocha! Of all my foster Sophia was only the second one she allowed to share her bed.. (the other was Tank who was adopted by Sherri!) Mocha even let her ride in the back of the suburban with her! Now you know she had to be sweet! This weekend we went to introduce her to her new family of pugs, danes and humans and they all loved her! As much as I love her and she fit in here, I knew this Adoptive family was her perfect FURever home! It could not have been a smoother and better fit.

We also had a ridiculous number intake requests this week. It never fails with the holidays shelter intake and owner surrender requests go up. It breaks my heart and honestly it ticks me off more than a little.... more on the newbies later this week. For now a huge THANK YOU to everyone who made these furever homes happen!
