Tips and Discussion on Training your Dane
We have a 11 month old, 94lb, great dane, Pearl. I used to take her for walks around the neighborhood (mile and a half) without any pulling. Recently she has started noticing everything. If we pass another dog (other dog could be behind a fence) and that dog starts barking at her, she starts barking, jumping, and nipping at me trying to get to the other dog. She nipped my leg in Petsmart trying to get at another dog, didn't break the skin, but left me with 3 bruises above my knee. I try to watch for signs and turn around and go the other way, sometimes there is just no where to go.

Our Dane, Raider, is a fantastic young boy. He does not have an aggressive bone in his body, but he has developed a habit that is difficult to deal with. He is a relentless barker at dogs that will give him attention for it at the dog park, or even horses once (which was very scary for all of us...except him).

OK, all. We are having some big trouble with Gwen the poo poo head. She suddently decided that she hates Guinness. They got in two fights a few weeks ago, then a few days later Gwen attacked Guinness and he ended up at the vet getting sedated and sutured back together. Just yesterday we allowed them together on leash and she immediately jumped on him and managed to tear open one of his old wounds in the second she touched him.

Hi all, I am having trouble with one aspect of my Bella’s (17 weeks old) personality that seems to have just appeared out of nowhere. I am doing a lot of training with her, have her in a puppy training class, and have her signed up for the next stage of training. I ask our trainer about this behavior and his suggestion is not working. So, here is my cry for help…

Some say that pets are like potato chips - it is hard to have just one. While more dogs mean more love, it will also mean more responsibility.
If you will be bringing another dog into your home, following these simple tips will make the process a lot easier for everyone involved. Let's talk about the right way to introduce two dogs.
1. Keep it friendly - It may be possible to introduce the dogs in a relaxed manner by just letting them sniff and play, as long as both are known to be friendly with other dogs.

Looking for the name of a good behaviorist who does home visits here in the DFW area. I have a friend who has a Doberman (rescued) who is aggressive towards strangers, especially in their home.
