My parents currently have a lab/beagle mix named Lillie who was diagnosed with cancer in December (not osteosarcoma). The tumor was in a difficult to reach place in one of her rear legs, and the vet warned them that she may not be able to remove the entire tumor. Unfortunately, tests this week confirmed that she wasn't able to remove everything. Two new growths appeared in the same location, and the vet recommended amputation as the next form of treatment.

I know you guys use particular vets for your Danes and I'd like to have a new doc for my Danes following a credit card processing fiasco
with the vet I've used when necessary. It's one thing to have an error or two, but it's a whole different thing when you know you are making
errors and continue doing it for more than a week and make no effort to notify victims, letting them discover the multiple charges for themselves.
Two days ago when i took Drake for a walk he acted really wrong. He stopped to poop and couldn't seem to straighten his back out. It then looked like he was trying to drag his bottom on the road at which point I got him in the grass. He sat down. We noticed his penis was sticking out and the tip was red. Once the penis retracted he could stand up again... walked as if nothing was ever wrong with him. I took him to the local vet today (not our usual vet). He seemed to think it was a spinal issue and something we should watch the symptoms. I am looking to see if any of you had ideas.

Hi! I am new here, and we have just been approved to adopt a Dane. We haven't gotten our list to look at yet, but I am a planner. :) Has anyone ever found somewhere that you can buy large amounts (say 6 bags or more) of dog food, and get a discount for purchasing in bulk? I am just wondering because we will have a dane and a lab to feed, and we figured buying one 30 lb bag at a time will be worthless at the rate the two of them will go through it. :)
Thanks in advance,
Shelbi
We are heading out on the road for an extended summer trip in the RV with the dogs. There is a get together we are thinking of attending but we wouldn't have a/c and the temps could get up to 90 degrees. I am worried about Drake and heat stroke. At what temperature, with him at rest, should I start worrying.

It's that time of year again when all dog owners must address the issue of parasite control. Unfortunately, many dog owners don't fully understand the importance of flea and tick control - and that's a very big problem. It is critical that you understand the dangers that your pets (and you) could be facing. So please take a few moments to find out what you need to know to keep your pets safe.

Hi all! I was actually googling for ideas about what may be going on with my dane baby when I found this site and thought who might have better ideas than a dane rescue?? My dog, Hudson, has been the love of my life! I picked him very carefully from a great show breeder as my first dog to show so he's got solid bloodlines behind him, tested fine for all the potential problems in the breed, fully vetted all his life and had no medical issues.

I rescued Boomer from the Humane society of Fort Worth and We love him very much.He does have a few problems with his skin and coat.First he sheads all the time and it is mostly the tan hair as he has very little white hair on his White spot area.Is this common with A " faunaquin"?

The surgery went well and he is doing great. He is officailly a tri-pawed now. I didn't expect him to come home till Thurs, but they called me this morning and said he was doing great, walking around and ready to go home. The nurses said he was dragging them when they took him to potty. Susan and William met me at the vet and helped me get him home. He was very happy to get home and is acting like nothing happened. He and Addie are snoozing now.
Thanks Susan and William, I really appriciate it.

Many pet owners are very careful about selecting the best food for their pets, but it is also important to make sure your dog gets plenty of fresh, clean water every day.
Studies have consistently shown that getting your dog to drink more water is one of the easiest ways to maintain their good health. However, many animals do not drink enough water to maintain their body's needs.
