Discussion Board Guidelines

This message is just a friendly reminder of our "rules of the board". Here's a quick review of the guidelines that make the board more enjoyable for everyone:

1) The purpose of the discussion board is for supporters of our organization, potential adopters, and Dane lovers to have a forum in which to discuss questions, information and issues that other Dane lovers, GDRNT supporters, and potential adopters may be able to provide valuable input.

2) There is no posting of other animals available for sale, for free, or for adoption. While we strongly encourage adoption, remember that GDRNT is seeking adopters for animals in our organization that need to find homes. If there is an animal that another recognized animal welfare organization wishes to have listed on our site, please e-mail us by using the form under the 'Contact' tab at the top of this screen to discuss the possibility of a courtesy listing. If you personally discover a Dane in need, please use the same form under the 'Contact' tab and the volunteer monitoring GDRNT email will help steer you to the best possible action to take.

3) We ask that everyone remember that some of our discussion board members are teens and children, so please keep all posts "G-rated". There are many folks who just enjoy "lurking" without posting so it's easy to forget that not everyone is an adult. If the moderators deem something to be inappropriate or in bad taste, we will remove it.

4) Many of us have made great friends through GDRNT and the Discussion Board. We do provide the "not Dane related" area for social posts of the supporters of our organization. One request is that if you post a social event; please make it open to all members. We don't want anyone to feel left out or excluded! Part of what makes our discussion board great is the terrific sense of camaraderie we have, so let's ensure it stays that way!

Please remember that the discussion board is a perk and privilege offered to us as a donation by our web hosting company. Very few animal rescue organizations are lucky enough to have a forum like ours. We have a great opportunity to share knowledge, look for support from other Great Dane lovers, and laugh at some of the goofy things our dogs do so let's make sure we all continue to benefit from the discussion board by using it the way it was intended to be used.

Our discussion board is growing and changing every day. Let's all do our best to keep it an exemplary example of what a rescue group's website can do.

Happy posting!
