Post for Dr. Cassie Great Dane agression...

I recently adopted a 2 year old male (Harley) from our local shelter. He has shown a few signs of agression and I am worried. Rhonda, the director of the shelter has 2 Great Danes of her own and I believe she used to live in Texas. She told me that you would be able to give me tips on what to do. My greatest concern is that I have three children 9, 3 and 19 months. Harley has already become part of our family, so we are very committed to making it work. Rhonda says that we have probably spoiled him a little too much and that he is feeling as if he has an elevated position in the family and that we now need to make him work for everything he gets. She also stressed that we will need to buy a crate and stop letting him have free roam over the house. Do you think that this is something that we can get passed or something that we will have to worry about forever? Let me know your thoughts, please.

Thanks
Stephanie
