Hi my name is Angie. I adopted a Dane about 2 months ago from Waco Humane Society. He has had a problem with smacking people and my little yorkie with his paws since we got him. We have been trying to break him of this habit to no avail. I have spoken to our vet. and other Dane owners and no suggestions so far have worked. We are very consistent with telling him, "No paws!" when he does it and have tried spraying him with a water bottle as well. But as he grows the problem is just getting worse. He is 10 months old approx. I am getting more and more worried as I have to have surgery next month and I can't have him hurting me. He just fattened my lip for me tonight. He gets along very well with my yorkie but we can't let them near each other as he hurts him constantly. I am at my wits end. I cried tonight for a long time because I don't want to get rid of him but don't know what else to do to stop this behavior. Any suggestions would be really appreciated. Thanks.
