Jinx came to us perfectly crate trained. She even loves to go in it throughout the day on her own for little rests. When I start to get ready to go out she goes in it herself. When she sees us getting ready for bed she knows it's time...until two nights ago then everything changed!!!
She wouldn't go into her crate! I felt her tummy and just for safety gave her a Gas-X. We finally got her in and turned out the lights, her crate is in our bedroom.
She started scratching and tearing up her mat and crying!!!!! This is something she has NEVER done!
After some time we let her up on the bed with us, the only furniture she's allowed on for naps with us, and waited till she feel asleep. Then we got her up and she went into her crate and went to sleep.
Last night the exact same thing happened, except she really tore up her bed and cried and cried!!! I fixed a new pad and gave her another Gas-X and let her cry until she finally stopped about an hour later!!!!
I know nothing about crate training so I really need your help. We have spent a lot of time on the bed together because of my surgery recovery. But we had been doing that when I had migraines almost every day for almost the full time we've had her until about a month ago and didn't have any problems.
It's been over 2 years since we've been doing this routine. I don't know why this is happening now, but I'm desperate to learn how to stop it...please help!
All my thanks in advance!!!!
Ellen
