So....Mr. Popper loves socks. Specifically my toddler son's socks. He spends most of his day looking for socks to eat. He's mastered opening the laundry room door where all the whites were just in the floor (not anymore!). He has a 6th sense to know when Jake's bedroom door is open and zoomies right in there sniffing around. He raids my clean laundry basket in search for socks. He's obsessed with socks!
Now then....On more than one occasion, I've found umm....excreted....socks in the back yard. Really just HOW bad is it for him to eat socks? Do I need to be even more diligent in keeping them away or is it okay for them to pass?
TIA!

yuck
I guess we are lucky cuz the diva would NEVER think of eating socks she preferes to dine on WET PULLUPS... blech... If I don't watch her she will take one and RUN to the yard to tear it up ... not pretty
..about that...
Popper got hold of one of our diapers....ate the inside....puked up the gel stuff. Nope not pretty....
yeah
I had to shop vac the yard to get the mess up.....not fun
Socks
UGGGG Danes swallowing stuff!
I have been lucky and the only things I have found in the back yard
in the past are entire bread loaf wrappers.
One of my new fosters Jewel has a fettish for my knee highs!
It is all we can do to pull them out of her mouth. You tell her NO and
she clamps down even tighter on them.
I bet she would suck them down if we didn't watch her like a hawk.
I truely wish I knew the answer to this one.
other than making sure my clothes are not on the floor I don't know the answer.

I'd say bad.
Only because Popper can end up with internal blockage. I've read several stories about dogs needing surgery to remove pieces of fabric from their intestines (it doesn't even take the whole sock to cause a 'clog'). My boys LOVE socks too and even though we are all careful they still get ahold of them from time to time. I am doing a lot of re-directing now (puppies) so I include socks. So when they have a sock I say, 'NO' and then give them a bone/toy/ect. I give lots of praise and a treat when I catch them selecting the bone/toy first. Good luck!
