Does anyone give their dogs frozen ham, bison, lamb bones?

Because these bones have raw meat I don't know how long they last.

I picked up a whole bag of Nature Variety bones for Barnum and Bailey since they are active chewers and also are just starting to lose their puppy teeth. They were so happy...I gave it to them frozen and they seem to be really soothed by the cold and delighted by the meaty parts.

My question is, what are the guidelines for giving these bones? Tonight, they enjoyed hams bone for about a hour. They were done and ready for a nap so I picked up the bones seeing there was still more meat, marrow ect. Can I re-freeze/fridge or do I need to discard them at this point? Had they continued to chew them is there a point they should be removed because they get spoiled/rancid?

I heard of people soaking tied up dish towels in water or broth but I think B&B would end up 'consuming' the towels. Does anyone encourage or discourage this?

Any other chewing/ comfort type things you recommend?

Some people feed their danes

Some people feed their danes the RAW diet. It is something I am not personally familliar with, but I do know that as long as the bones are NOT cooked, then they are safe for the dogs. Cooked bones can splinter and cause problems if swallowed. Good luck with this, not to sure what else you could use, since I haven't had a puppy in a while.

Thank you. I didn't know...

...that cooking could cause the bones to splinter. I've never feed any dog anything other than kibble (currently Canidae) and some treats (nature variety log, cheese, cooked meat pieces/no bones, rolled chew sticks). So this is a first. I only am trying it because it is both a chew treat/ cold comfort. You'd think though it would be labeled with some info about how long it can left out and used for.
