compressed vertebrae - Happy Harvey

For those of you who remember him, Harvey is our sweet ~9 year old dane. He is suffering from partial paralysis of his back end due to some of his vertebrae being compressed. These vertebrae have caused him so trouble in the past and his body is trying to fuse them together. The other day he pulled a classic Harvey move and walked straight into a wall. Since then he has been a little unsteady and has fallen a few times. Today I had the day off and was home with him when he fell and could not get back up on his hind legs. We have been to the vet but didn't get a prognosis or much information really. He is on pain killers and anti-inflamatories and we are just hoping that when the swelling goes down he will regain the controll over his back legs. Currently he is trying to stand up but his little paws keep turning up and he tries to walk on the tops of his feet - not at all effective.
I will keep you posted and hopefully will have some happier news soon!
