I know Heather and I have been scarce around the discussion boards lately - and we miss you all terribly - but we've been working our patooties off dealing with behind-the-scenes DaneFest stuff.

As all of our long-time supporters and volunteers know, DaneFest is not only a great excuse to get Dane lovers together for an afternoon of socializing - it's also one of only two BIG fundraisers this group holds each year.

Without DaneFest and our annual Auction, this group would not be able to afford the vet bills that come with abandoned, abused and neglected dogs. It's very important for me to note that we get a TON of help from a handful of generous benefactors. Without this small group of people who open up their checkbooks as wide as possible, we would have closed our doors long ago. We also get some help from the little fundraisers we do throughout the year - like the cafepress stuff and garage sales, etc. BUT, it's our two big events (DaneFest and the Auction) that keep us in the good graces of our vets.

So, with that said, we need your help promoting this event! We make some money off the entrance fee - so it's important to spread the word about this event to all the dane lovers you know...but the big bucks come from the raffle item (we have a whooper this year...a 50" Samsung TV - fully equipped!). Here's a link to the raffle flyer... please print it and post it prominently in your office break room, your local Petsmart and your local Starbucks.

We'll have info on the raffle...along with instructions for buying raffle tickets online...on the front page soon (that's one of the things we're working on behind the scenes).

We thank you for the help - but the dogs in need are the ones who are really appreciative.
