Oprah Winfrey Highlights Horrors of Puppy Mills
Tune in Tomorrow
Dear Laura,
I invite you to watch an extraordinary hour of television tomorrow (Friday, April 4): "The Oprah Winfrey Show" is scheduled to air a special episode highlighting the cruel realities of puppy mills.
Millions of "Oprah" show viewers will be shocked when they learn of the underhanded tactics and deplorable practices used to mass produce purebred puppies and designer dogs, as seen in an investigative report by Lisa Ling. Animal lovers nationwide will also see what impact these “factories” have on pet overpopulation.
I’ll be a guest on the show, sharing the expertise of The HSUS and our campaigns to stop puppy mills and end pet overpopulation.
Check here to find out when "The Oprah Winfrey Show" is on in your area.
Then sign our pledge to stop puppy mills today.
Thank you for all that you do for animals.
Sincerely,
Wayne Pacelle

AWESOME!!!
I agree. I think they did a great job. I got a box of tissues before I started watching it and had to pause it a few times and get up and love on the babies. I too lost it on the Ft. Worth part. I had to fast forward through the part where they were actually euthanizing the dogs. I was bawling and had to pause it, Hannah came running up to my recliner and basically climbed in my lap kissing me and loving all over me. Then I just bawled more and loved on her, Addie & Argos. I hope the show will be online, I would like to send the link to people I know were working and didn't dvr it.
I knew it was going to be bad, but I was honestly shocked. I just can't believe what people do for a $$. I think now that this has aired, it would be a great time to send every famous person (actor, singer, corporate people, sports people, etc.) some type of letter, email, slide show or something asking for help (donations, stuff to action, etc.) I just feel like a door has opened and we need to run through it. I am making a list of famous people, doing some research on them (trying to make sure they are decent people). Then I'm going to put something together (if there are any letters or anything that has been used in the past can you please forward it to me) and start mailing and/or emailing them out. I just want to do everything I can to raise money for GDRNT and the worst thing that can happen is that they tell me NO or don't respond. I'm hoping that if I can get a couple positive responses out of every 100 I send out that would be more than GDRNT previously had.
I said a prayer to God that this would open peoples eyes and this MADNESS WOULD STOP and all the animals will find good loving homes.

I'm very glad they did the
I'm very glad they did the show. I did ok and tried to hold in the tears but the clip at the Ft. Worth shelter did me in. Was so heart wrenching seeing those sad faces and the one on the scale so happy to be out and being touched only to be put down a few moments later, it's just so terrible. I hope this opened more eyes, people are so blind to this stuff.
I am THRILLED!
I think they did a really good job...seemed like it FLEW by and there was so much more to tell. I was a blubbering mess through the whole show, but I knew I would be. Even after doing rescue 11 years, I can't harden up to it.
Oprah has a HUGE following and I really hope the message gets out there. I know she personally was touched. I just wrote her an e-mail thanking her. Not that she will get it, but I wanted to do SOMETHING!
