Many, many thanks to our very own eather for this idea!
Here's our latest flyer. Email me and I'll send you a printable version. Feel free to post far and wide. Petsmart/Petco, Starbucks, vet's offices are all good places to start. Actually, any place that has a community bulletin board would work. (please ask permission before posting, though)

Posted!
Hi, love the flyer. I already have it posted in our vets office and had a taker yesterday. I'll put up more around town.
I know Killeen is far from all of you, but we already have a new potential forever home from here. Who knows what we can do! I'm hoping for the best in awareness, fosters, donations, and new forever homes!!!
Good work!
Wonderful job Ellen! That's great news! Killen may be far, but without a dane-only rescue organzation south of us, they deserve access to danes in need too!

Addison
Well, Miss Addison is doing good and currently asleep on the dog bed in my bedroom. I picked her up from Dr B's today since I'm home and can monitor her. She is uber sweet but very skinny. As most of you know, I'm pretty good at fattening them up, so hopefully in a couple of weeks she will have put on some weight and will be much better.
She has a "cone" on and Argos is such a big BABY, he is scared of the cone so every time Addison comes close to him, he runs away...lol I'm sure he will get used to it in a few days. It's just funny to see such a big dog being such woosie.
I was getting them all in the bedroom and she was standing beside me at the door, Argos came around the hall corner running in the bedroom and when he saw Addison, he put on the brakes and slide down the hall. So I moved her out of the door and he very quickly ran in the bedroom and jumped on the bed and looked at her like "haha, you can't get me now".
When we went out a few minutes ago to potty, Addison trys to sniff his butt and ends up chasing him around the yard, he then runs and hides behind me. I need a video recorder!!

Those Silly Boys
I love Argos - he sounds like such a silly little man (um, correction BIG man). ;-)
Very Cool!
Love the flyer and our prayers are definitely with Addison and paws are crossed!
Newsflash!
The dane who modeled for this flier is a new GDRNT dane named Addison. Addison just had emergency surgery and we have all our fingers and paws crossed that she makes a full recovery. She has to - she's our "Uncle Sam Addison (USA)" and will be used in a lot of our fliers this year (it is an election year so we've gotta be patriotic, you know).
More details about her condition will follow - but for now please keep Addison in your doggie prayers.
Prayers sent...
I hope she makes a fast recovery!! Please keep us updated on her progress.
prayers coming....
Many prayers for Addison....please keep us posted Courtney.
One of my best friends has a daughter named Addison....they call her Addi for short.

surgery
She was bleeding internally after her spay, I think. I have a special tie to her because I did her transport from the shelter and named her too! I went and saw her at susan's house the day before this happened and noticed she was not her normal "extreemly excited" self when I went to visit her. I tell ya, that girl when she gets well is going to be alot of fun to be around! Susan and William did amazing with what they had to work with, and Susan just can't wait to have her back at home.....
Addison
Addison developed a Hematoma internally and almost bled out sometime between 2 & 6 am Sat morning
here at our place. The blood came through her spay sutures and she left about 2 pints of blood in the bottom
of her crate and every where else. Ok I admit it I freaked! I never knew a dog had so much blood in them.
I am thankful that William was home at the time, because right now since I am recovering from the bypass
surgery there is no way I could have lifted her into a vehicle to get her the emergency help that she needed.
I can not say enough about the ER Clinic that we took her too! There is no way she is gonna even let out so much
as a leak with the way she is sutured up! She ought to belong to the "zipper" club! I bet there are 25 - 30 sutures in her.
Her 1st 24 hrs were the critical ones. She did have a problem with low protein levels which required alot of bloodwork
which we all know can be expensive. She spent 2 nites at the ER clinic and 2 days at Dr. B's office being monitored.
I just want to thank Jana for taking in Addison! After all she has been through, she really needed a stay at home mom,
and Jana is the perfect one to help her recover from all of this since she is currently not working.
Jana picked Addison up from Dr B's tonite and they came over for a visit. I swear these dogs rebound so quickly! I mean
here William and I didn't sleep for almost 2 days worrying about whether or not she was gonna make it and now she is running
around acting like all is well with the world. I am totally astounded at her recovery.
Now we just need to work on raising some money to help replenish the funds we have spent on her medical bills.
I will post some pics of her in a bit in the foster home updates section!
Thanks for the update Susan.
Thanks for the update Susan. Man, I would of freaked too!!! I'm glad she is doing better now.
YIPEEE
I have been keeping paws crossed for you and her... Jana will be perfect for her!
What did she need surgery
What did she need surgery for?
Sweet baby...
Sweet sweet Addison. I went and visited her today at Dr. B's office and she was looking really good! I hope she continues to improve. Susan is really worried about her too.
