I think I should just change his name. He escaped the crate again. I've been zip tying the door closed at both latches. He's now learned how to chew through the zip ties, get the door open and get out. He consumed an entire bag of treats, a whole loaf of garlic bread and a diaper. I found him trapped in the bathroom with a bar of soap in his mouth.
Any other ideas?

what about caribeeners?
how about using caribeeners to keep the door locked ?

Thanks!
I just had to search to see what that is, but it is a great idea!
had to laugh:)
my human kiddos use to get soap in the mouth when they were little for "talking back".....so maybe he is just punishing himself for being such a bad boy escaping and counter surfing! If he couldn't escape the bathroom....maybe you should keep him in there instead of the crate??

where to find
they are used especially for climbing, but you can use them for anything! they're great! you can get some that just clip or you can find them that clip and then screw tight!
you can find quite the assortment at REI - it's over on 635 just west of the galleria on the north side - stay on the service road and it's on the right if you're headed west. can't remember the street that's right before that. we use them for everything!
good luck

no advice...
...but i marvel at his shrewdness! His choice of snacks on the other hand is disgusting!
maybe
you should just lock him in the bathroom with a bunch of stuff he can chew??? I think Academy Sports has caribeaners too...
Plastic Crate rather than wire crate?
You could maybe try a plastic crate rather than a wire crate. I think it is harder for them to escape. However, that is a lot of money to invest just to find our he really is Houdini. :)
