OK, I know this probably has been discussed before my days on the board... but my good friend who throws out fundraising ideas out at me every now and again mentioned that utilizing famous people who have Danes can be such a useful marketing tool for us.... I know Jamie said that several local people have been contacted, but does anyone know of other famous people who own Danes that we could potentially contact? I found the below link to be pretty helpful. And then check out the 3 Danes on Greg Louganis's web site below it too! I am thinking about emailing him.

local
I think a while back someone contacted David McDavid since they feature a dane on their commercials. and there is a big time realtor in Bluff View who has a dane and is big in Golden Rescue..... Does anyone know the McDavids???
Sopranos
Drea De Matteo from the Sopranos not only owns danes, but supports dane rescue. I couldn't find a website for her, but maybe someone smarter than me can..
Judy, Scooby, and Daphne
Lots of them......
Look at this link from "danes online". They had this discussion on the forums recently:

Jim Carey
I found a little on the web that said Jim Carey got a mantle named George last year.

Greg Louganes was featured
Greg Louganes was featured on Animal Planets' Breed All About It. He was very attached to his danes. Its so nice to see celeb's with a heart! I hate to see people like Paris Hilton and Britney Spears carry puppies around like accessories. Its so horrible for the breed and puts the demand out there for breeders to prey on.
Robin
I'm surprised no one mentioned the guy who used to play Robin on the old Batman and Robin show. He and his wife actually run their own rescue called Gentle Giants Rescue if I remember correctly. It's mainly Great Danes but they also take in Mastiffs and Salukis etcetera. If they're big they love 'em!
The reason might be...
that the Boy Blunder and his psycho wife actually run a rescue/puppy mill. If you take some time and actually look at their website, watch their "TV Show" you can't help but see that there is a lot of BS being flung around.
A few years ago, a relative of mine adopted from GGR. It was a horror story. She was one of those that Burt Ward tried to sue for not feeding the "recommended Pedigree"!
Might want to take a look here... http://www.gentlegiantnews.com/
ugh
I think I'll be ill now... Thank you for bringing that to my attention. More people need to know. By the looks of that they're just hoarders. Ugh. I'm going to go hug and kiss my babies.
