Another Dane Crosses the Rainbow Bridge

A Friend of mine here in Alaska (one of the 3 people I know with Great Danes here) put her beloved Tawney down Friday night. Tawney was 6 1/2 and has had advanced wobblers for a little over a year. Her owner worked with her when they first found out about it and she was able to walk enough to get around. She started having spasams about 2 weeks ago and would fall in the floor unable to get up. She couldnt get off the couch and when she did wouldn't get off the deck to potty. We finally got her owner to see how much pain she was in and make one of the most difficult decisions to make.

I was lucky enough to spend time with Tawney when her owner went out of town. She was still a spunky dog even though she had mounds of problems (pads that would crack and bleed, her hips turned out when she walked, and of course the wobblers) On good days she would play tug with me and she always trotted to me when she saw me come over.

Miss Tawney will be missed by everyone who came in contact with her....
