Hi all,
Just a quick note. Roady has tested positive for Hearworms even though he has been on heart guard since we adopted him.
He had three negative tests over the year or so and this came as quite a surprise. As best we can tell he must have had the beginings of heart worms
when we got him. The test won't show positive until there are adult heart worms.
Now we're faced with a problem. He is way to active for us to give the the two shot cure. He can not be quieted. He goes berserk in cages.
Its been recommended that since he is so hyper.......and he is on heart guard.....just let it be for now......the heart guard will kill any new larva......the few heart worms he does have will eventually die out and he will once again be negative.
So thats the way we are headed......of cousre, if things get worse we re evaluate and go fromthere.
Best to all.
Paul
