Sarah and I helped Baby Z cross the bridge last night. Zeus was diagnosed with bone cancer and went steadily down. He could not get up on his own, the back leg was swollen and you could tell he had pain. Even though Zeus was not adopted from GDRNT, he did quite a bit of volunteer work. He was my "go to" dog for home evals and also wore the "volunteer vest" on a couple of events. Many of you probably saw Zeus at Danefest from the last four years. This past Danefest he was there only an hour before the back leg started to give a little and we sent him back to the house. He was also special because he was Amy's husband--they were a little ole married couple. Towards the end, she was keeping vigile over him and none of the dogs were allowed near him---it was really sweet. He will be missed by all
