Many years ago I fostered with my boyfriend at the time, Jim, a Dane we named Chloe. Well, after we had her a short time, we added Dancer to the end as it just suited her. Chloe Dancer was an amazing girl and we adopted her to a wonderful family. We lost touch with her adopted family through the years, but about 6 mos. ago, my secretary was booking a cruise and really "clicked" with the travel agent. Through corresponding she learned she had Danes, she mentioned she knew someone that did Dane rescue and low and behold, we put two and two together and reconnected with a much older Chloe Dancer and her mom Kathy! Chloe Dancer was still living the good life and it was wondeful to get updates and pics of her that I forwarded to Jim.
I am sad to say that Kathy e-mailed me and they lost Chloe Dancer Friday. This is what she wrote....
Hi Sara,
I hate to tell you, but we had to put Chloe Dancer to sleep Friday evening. She stopped eating and drinking and had a difficult time getting up to go out to use the bathroom. We think she had a stroke, she was very disoriented and her stomach was bloated. We have a great vet who came out to our house and euthanized her. It was the hardest thing we had to do, but we know she is in a better place and we made the right decision. We didn’t want her to suffer. She would have been 11 years old next month. We are so going to miss her. Duke, our other black Great Dane who is 3 years old, is lost without her. He has been moping around the house and even slept in her bed last night for part of the night. So sad, but we all will be fine. I wanted to post it on the Great Dane Rescue website, but couldn’t figure out how to do it and add the attached pictures of her. Can you help?

Chloe Dancer was super special and will be terribly missed, but we all know she is excellent company at the Rainbow Bridge and I know all the GDRNT Danes who passed before her will welcome her there.
