DALLAS – Springtime officially kicks off with Dallas’ most colorful canine event, the Turtle Creek
Association’s Easter in the Park, featuring the hilarious “Pooch Parade and Costume Contest,” and a live
concert of light classical music by the Dallas Symphony Orchestra. Celebrating its 23rd anniversary this
year, Easter in the Park is slated for Sunday, March 23, 2008, from 12:45 p.m. – 5 p.m. (with registration
for the “Pooch Parade” beginning at 11 a.m.) at Lee Park, located at Turtle Creek Boulevard and Lemmon
Avenue.
The beloved family-oriented celebration, which typically attracts 10,000 – 12,000 attendees, is
Dallas’ largest annual outdoor event and is free and open to the public. Guests are invited to bring
blankets and picnic lunches or may dine on a wide variety of “State-Fair-type” foods, such as corn dogs
and funnel cakes.
