Sadie is growing by leaps and bounds and is starting to look almost normal already! Her hip bones are still very pronounced, but her ribs are starting to disappear and her face is filling out too. She loves to play chase with our Pomeranian (all 12 pounds of him!) so I think she's feeling much better than she was when she first got here! She has also started to realize that my Aussie, Cooper, is still top dog around here and she has to take a back seat to him more often than not. There are still teeth being shown and some low-throat growls on occasion, but it's getting better. In these photos, she's showing more than a passing interest in the guinea pigs. The doors to this room are closed and locked when Sadie is not supervised, so no worries about her snacking on the little furballs!
(The blue band around Sadie's middle in one of the pictures is a male belly band, used for dogs that like to mark. It's doing a fine job holding up that tumor, which I'm guessing weighs about 4 pounds or so!
I apologize for the dirty girl....she is due for a bath and will get one this weekend. Although, I also think a lot of the coloration is her skin and not her coat. She may be stuck with those splotches forever!

Whoa! That is a big tumor, this is the 1st time I've seen it. Having that thing removed will probably make her feel like a pup again. Glad to hear things are going well.

Sadie has definitely come a long way in two short weeks; she looks soooo much better that except for that awful tumor, i doubt i would have known it was the same dog if i hadn't been told! Yep, her new mom is definitely taking extra special care of this extra special girl. Pam, many blessings for all the hard work!

Puppy-ish
It's funny....she is totally different since I put the belly-band on that tumor to hold it up. With all of the weight off and the fact that it's not swinging around or bumping into her legs, she's already starting to act like a puppy! She loves the doggytug toy I got for her and chases Scrappy the Pom all over the place when we're outside. She tries to get him to tug with her, but the toy weighs half of what he weighs, so he looks at her like she's crazy :)

how old is she
How old is she? and is it a fatty tumor or what.... it is hard to believe she is the same skinny girl... but hey the same could be said about me!!!
Not sure about the tumor
We're not sure about the tumor yet, but based on my past experience, it's a mammary tumor, generally caused from overbreeding and a buildup of fluid in one teat. Keep your fingers crossed that it's a benign tumor....at would just break my heart to find out it's malignant :(
Weight Gain
It is said that "Sadie is a married lady"... she must believe she "got married" when she got a home to go to. Instant weight gain!!! HA (difference between a wife and a girlfriend??? 40lbs) LOL... did i really just say that???
