I just picked up Flossy from Creekside and brought her home to my GSD and my foster Harlee. Flossy and Harlee are almost a matched pair, they have different builds though: Flossy is a little shorter but much thicker and heavier than Harlee. She was nervous when i picked her up at the vet office, but gave me kisses pretty quickly and the made it in the car. She was also nervous on the way home, but did well. As SOON as hopped out of the car she went potty in the front yard, but i couldn't get her to go before leaving the vet. Just happy she saved it for the grass....
I introduced her and Kaiser first because he is a playful friendly dog with most anything he meets. they did great, so i put him up and moved on to Harlee. They did good, Flossy had a play-bow ready to go in the first 3 minutes. Her tail was still tucked but she playing. (It's currently untucked, but she doesn't appear to be much of a wagger). After a while of those two, during which i was trying to teach her to drink from the faucet-spout we have set up for the dogs, i brought Kaiser back out. It was a 3-dog-free-for-all. My knees and I just barely survived. They have now played inside as well, and are currently laying down in various places around the house. Flossy and Kaiser are still randomly playing or following each other around. My Harlee girl (big time momma's girl) is laying at my feet.
So, so far so good. She's good with the big dogs. I'll see how she does when we meet some strangers (my husband first!), then my neighbor, and THEN my neighbor's smaller female dog mix that's about 35 lbs i'd say....
