I'm not really her foster mom....but she will be having a girls weekend get-away at my house starting tomorrow!! I stopped by to see her today and make arrangements to pick her up tomorrow. She is BEAUTIFUL!!!! I'm so looking forward to having this little girl for the weekend I can hardly stand it!!!! I will take LOTS of pictures and tell you how she does with my 90 lbs crazy mutt Elgin...and my two kids. We're counting the hours til she gets here!!!

Happy Tail:(
Poor baby....the tip of her tail had a scab on it this morning when I picked her up. Sometime this afternoon, she wacked it and got it bleeding again. She is such a peanut! Wow...what a sweet girl. She is already leaning, hugging (yes, just like Dora) and givng TONS of kisses. Elgin washed her face and ears....he's so happy to have a buddy to play with. She was a little cautious at first....nervous and wasn't sure what to think. It lasted about a minute...and then the zoomies began! She is FAST! I am praying that hubby will come home tomorrow night and agree to foster. She is very skinny and needs some magic recipes from Jana to fatten her up!! Hint hint Jana....can you tell me what to feed her? I'll post some pics tomorrow. I love her already!!

"Magic" Recipes
Honestly, I really don't have any "magic" recipes. If they need to gain weight I usually feed them 3 to 4 meals (amount depends on their size) a day (depending on how much they need to gain). I have also found that a lot of times they have iron deficiences(sp) when they are so skinny are hw positive and cooked livers are good to put in their kibble. You can also used cooked chicken, scrambled eggs, yogurt(sp). I even put no sodium green beans in with the kibble. I don't put a lot in their kibble, just enough to really entice them to eat the food and it gives them added protein. I know most of them don't need enticing, but its one of my ways of spoiling them. Addie & Argos very rarely just get kibble and when they do, they usually look in the bowl, then at me like "argggg where is the rest of it". Meal time at my house is like opening a cracker jacks box, they never know what surprise I put in their kibble....lol
When they are really skinny, I think its better to give them more meals in smaller portions that a couple of big meals. You can also get meal bones (called WholeMeals) from Petco (and I'm sure other places). So during the week when I'm at work, Logan can give them a couple of meal bones when he puts them back in the crate before he goes to work and they still basically get several meals a day.

YAy
I am so happy to hear this stacey! I cant' wait for updates on her. The last time I saw her was when I transported her from the ER vet to Dr B at ohio Drive because she had eaten her toys! She was sooo good in the car, Herbie thought she was soo cute too.... I just had to remind him that SHE ATE HER TOYS!! My best advice it to watch her every move with things she puts in her mouth. I also have to believe that she was sooo skinny when she came to rescue that maybe anything for food was better than no food to her, no matter how bad it hurt her tummy. I can't wait to see what she looks like now that she has been in a good foster home!
Enjoy your weekend! And keep us posted!
