Well after a long haul with the inlaws and I am sure they would agree, Geoff and I put an offer on a foreclosure in Mckinney and it was accepted. It will take about 45 plus days to close with the banks and stuff, but we are going to have more than one bath room, a dishwasher, garbage disposal, whoo hoo!!! Never thought i would be so excited about those. Esp the dishwasher!!! I ended up renting out the Farmers Branch house and now I will be three streets from my sister and sister in law!!
There is a game room upstairs with three bedrooms. Ella got to pick which room she wants and the color she wants changes hourly. Pink, brown, white, black, purple, yellow and orange. silly girl!!! We are not that fancy so the "formal dining room" we will use as an office. I just switched brokers and my real estate is starting to pick up a lot. Geoff is about to traveling to Asia a lot and I hope we can get moved in before he does that!!!
So now you know what I have been doing the last few weeks and will continue to be doing for the next few.....

I have no idea. The upstairs is bigger than our whole house was before. We almost tripled our square footage. We have been waiting for something like to come along for two years now. We finally got in a great $$$ position and can make the move. I am very close to my sister and besides living away at college, this is the farthest we have lived form each other. McKinney and dallas is not THAT far!!! I am just so happy. I did not want a master down stairs but this floor plan works well. My closet it 25 ft long. My house was 25 ft long before. We are just so excited. We really wanted a pool but the yards are the size of a postage stamp but we are two blocks either way to community pools. And I have my beautiful niece near too. I am just so happy. Ella and I looked at about 15 houses in the last two weeks and this is the one that she liked too.

OH Heather, that house is drop dead gorgeous, curb appeal glore...you will be so happy with all that extra room...I can't tell you how happy I am for you...that kitchen is great! I can't wait for you to move in and be so comfy...you MUST post pictures as you progress with your move and any remodeling you do.. I know Don and Lynn will miss you and Ella, but now they can move in with YOU! hehehehehe
PS my dishwasher was out for over 5 months and I just bought one last Saturday...so I can totally relate (the other half of my bonus money! hahahahaha)

quite a change from your dallas house. you'll be surprised how quickly it will fill up with stuff (or dogs). and that 25 ft closet will look a lot smaller about 2 yrs from now.

when you said a foreclosure, i was expecting to see something that needed 6 months of work before you could move in - shutters hanging off, holes in the walls, toilets blown up, etc. but it looks perfect.

Stinkin Wells Fargo
You know, when we looked at this house, I asked the listing agent if Wells Fargo was the lender and he said no. This summer WF yanked a foreclosure on me and I just dont like dealing with them. Well guess what. I have an executed contract, signed by all parties WITH A CLOSING DATE and Wells Fargo IS the lender. They pulled the house off the market and will foreclose on it. I think it is going to auction on Tuesday. So now we are back to square one looking again. If there were not so many dad gum foreclosures on the market, I would not even look at them. But they are taking up like 60% of all homes on the market right now.
Sigh........ ohh well. There are a ton more on the market

Sooooo sorry Heather. That sucks. Keep looking, the right one is out there. Yeah, I was surprised that even though everyone is saying home prices are dropping, two houses on my street sold for $100 a s.f. in less then a month, which is really good for my neighborhood. Keep plugging away! You will get there!

Yikes! That sucks. If it makes you feel any better, I thought I had lost my dream home (one of many that got snatched away) but I found out that that particular one ended up being right next to a house full of abnoxious teenage boys and it is on a really busy street (I didn't know the area well so I didn't realize that before). Long story short, things happen for a reason, just think maybe that house had some unforseen electrical problem, or the plumbing was bad and you are now saved from that nightmare. You'll find your dream home, it's out there. Keep your chin up.

Heather, we also just bught a foreclosure. Our house will be on the market in a couple of weeks. If Plano would do for you, call me. As a selling point....there is a great dog park a mile or so from here.

That was a cute place... you will find another one ! We looked at tons of them before we found ours. There are so many good deals to be found, but I am sure that its tough when you are staying with someone and in a pinch to find a place. Even if you are welcome, I am sure you are itchin' to have your own space again! At least looking at home is interesting. It always amazes me what people do to their homes..... I have seen some crazy stuff!
