Susan does Meet and Greets and handles the medical book/petpoint and heart worm prevention
Jamie- does fundraising and we both juggle intaking
Heather- Adoptions, foster placement and juggle intaking and transporting with Jamie
Cassie- Vet and is our on call person. With her busy schedule, it does not allow a lot of time for the daily duty stuff
Liisa- lives in Michigan, has her own law firm and basically stays on as a founding member
There is a lot more behind the scenes stuff that is always handled by our board members as well as other volunteers. We have an advisory board as well that is made up of previous board members.
Lea- who is still our president
Sara- founding member and previous president
Ronda- founding member, lawyer and supervisor of an Humane Society in Alabama.
Lynn is an officer and she is our treasure and secretary. She has the hardest job to me. That is HOURS of work a week. HOURS.
Mary answers all emails that come in to contact, info, pet finder etc.
Ohh she has been in St Croix and just got back a few days ago. She also had an out of state funeral to attend to the day she got back. So I think it has been quite crazy for her
Very cool... just sometimes crossed my mind as to who did what. But, dang.. sorry you had to go into all that on a day like today. :( I figured many of the oldtimers would know and would answer.
Heathers list doesn't even begin to cover it!!! One thing I admire about this group is the abundance of common sence.... and the team effort that goes into every decision.... while it may not be perfect or foolproof it is one of the best systems I have encountered....
Every day there are MANY phone calls, emails and web inquireies that must be addressed.... many calls are from shelters asking us to take danes on the "PTS" list. On top of that there are many questions from foster parents, adoption coordinators and potential adopters. Then there is the big picture stuff like "do we have the money to pay our vet bills" (YES we do pay our vet bills... and even with a generous discount it is substantial) Meet and Greet coordination of volunteers, locations and fosters.............
And somplace in all that there are personal lives!!! broken bones, personal doggie crisis, children (the skin kids), family tragidy, work school.... well LIFE!!!!
SOOOO if you are still reading and can spare some room in your home to foster, time to transport, help at a meet and greet, time to assist potential adopters or IF YOU CAN MAKE A DONATION .... YOU TOO CAN MAKE A DIVERENCE!!!
