poor cable guy

The cable company sent a tech out this morning to resolve some problems we are having so Barnum and Bailey got put into the laundry room for the visit. It was extremly comical because the boys were doing their morning bonkers routine stuck in that small space making all their growls and AAAAAAARRRGGGHHHH's plus wrestling knocking into the washer/dryer and doors. It sounded like two monster beasts in there and the tech was less than thrilled! ....'Can they get out'?......'What is that, I know that can't be dogs'?......To make matter more comical my daughter (3yrs) explains, 'that's my brothers and they are in time out for eating the baby'...the 'baby' was her dolly and needed to go through the wash after they ran around with it but assure him no babies were 'eaten'. He asked no less than five times in the twenty minutes he was here..'please keep them contained/ are you sure they can't break down the door'. If he only knew how sweet and gentle they really are!

window guy

we had a guy over a couple weeks ago to talk about replacement windows. since reilly is pretty unstable on his feet now, he's not real threatening but we gated him in the kitchen just to be safe.
well reilly took an instant dislike to this guy (as did we). we finally locked him in the br with the door closed and he barked most of the time the guy was there.
the guy kept saying to let him out, he was fine with dogs but we could just tell reilly wasn't happy about this guy being in the house. can't say that i blame him, when we wouldn't sign up for $28K worth of windows he got real huffy and had a real attitude.

I really don't like dealing with people like that...

...with the pushy, huffy additude. Reilly has good instincts! Hope you have better luck next time!

we did

we had a guy out from a different company and he was just the opposite. really nice and no pressure.

Hahaha!!!

That's great!! Our cable guy was the same way a few weeks ago! Popper was asleep in the front room..didn't even know the guy was there. I kept watch in case he woke up, but he never did. Not that he would have even done anything to him, but his size is intimidating plus all that puppy energy. The guy was like...does he bite? I said, not while he's asleep. LOL! I didn't bother to tell him he can't hear. :)

Poppers is much bigger than...

...either of my pups so I can imagine the 'dread' for people who don't know the breed! Popper also seems to be much more cleaver than my boys. They get 'stuck' everywhere (under couches, dining room chairs) and they just cry/panic for help having no sense of how to get 'free'. So I just think Poppers is quite genious...even if he uses his smarts for mischief!

when we lived in DC we got a vicious dog noticce

when Austin was about 4 months old and less than 50lbs... I came home and there was a "vicious Dog"notice on my front door from the post office??? All the mailman had to do was stick the mail inside the slot.. Austin couldn't get him thru the mail slot!!!

I had to have a supervisor come out and "cerify" that my house was safe! apparently the carrier was wicked scared of dogs... the supervisor laughed and took pictures of my vicious dog and that was the end of it.... I bet the guy never lived it down!

I want to put a camera at my front door to catch the reaction when people see her coming full steam to the front window...

lmao these stories have me cracking up

When I had Addison and Brooke here at the same time I had a little party at the house. I was still getting ready and the dogs were um helping. Then two ladies I didn't think were coming showed up early and Addison and Brooke raced to the glass door to see who it was and 'welcome' them by jumping up to full height against the door and barking and wagging their tails. These two ladies jerked back and ran to the other side of the street and wouldn't come back until I assured them I had the dogs in their crates upstairs. I'm sure it was startling to see 6' of dog in your face. Everyone else loved them. They still said the usual 'holy crap they are huge!...nice horses...etc' but all commented at how sweet and gentle they were.

My favorite is going through the drive thru and peoples reactions when they see that big curious head poking out of the backseat window.

The drive-thru!!!

YES!! One girl actually yanked my coffee back into the store when she saw his head out the window. LOL!

Kangarooo jumps

I occasionally hear screams from the back alley when someone is walking and Mo starts her kangaroo jump so all you can see is her head and shoulders over the 6 foot fence..... and Dunn Bros Coffee actually hands milkbones out to the Mo when we drive thru... so does my bank

Therapy dog visits

When Gandalf and I go on our Therapy Dog visits, the people who work in the facilities are so scared of him. It makes me laugh. (to myself) as if I would take a mean dog on a visit. The workers often walk the other way or go into a room as we walk by. We always get the questions all dane owners get; is that a pony? or do you ride him? How much does he weigh? The people who live in the facilities love hom because his head is wheelchair and bed height. OF course Gandalf loves all of the ear rubs. He is also great when we have several teenage boys spending the night. I tell them that Gandalf is loose downstairs and they better not come down or try to leave the house in the middle of then night. So far, no problems on that score. The big guys are really something.
